Ⅰ. The characteristics of copper clad steel ground rod

The copper clad steel ground rod has a strong copper layer and strong corrosion resistance. The copper layer will not crack or peel when bent 180°. Copper clad steel ground rods have strong corrosion resistance. Because the steel used has a tensile strength of up to 600N/mm2, they can reach deep underground (up to 35m) with the help of impact drills.

The copper clad steel earth rod is made by covering a steel core with electrolytic copper molecules with a purity of 99.9%. The use of high-quality Q235 low-carbon steel, after large-diameter cold-drawn processing, overcomes the defect of poor bonding force of the casing coating method, enhances the tensile strength, and maintains toughness. The outside is plated with 99.9% pure copper, and there are many different thickness of the copper layer for customers to choose, such as 0.254mm, 0.33mm, 0.5mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm and so on.

Ⅱ. The adhesion of the copper coating of the copper clad steel ground rod

When the ground rod is driven into the ground, it should be checked whether the plating tends to separate. The specific method is: clamp the ground rod to be tested between the vise, the distance between the jaws is equal to the diameter of the rod minus 1.2mm. When the rod is squeezed, the vise will cut the plating layer of the rod in contact with it, and the remaining part of the surface of the plating layer will not peel off. This plating layer can ensure that the copper clad steel earth rod can be threaded after copper plating.

The thickness of the copper coating of the copper clad steel ground rod can be measured with an electronic thickness micrometer at each point according to the specified number of times, and the thickness must be at least 0.254mm. This thickness ensures that the bottom of the thread produced after copper plating is completely covered by copper, and it can be used underground for more than 30 years. The plasticity of the coating is tested after the rod is bent 180°, and no cracks and peeling are allowed. The diameter, copper layer thickness and length can be customized according to customers.
