1. The buried depth of the ground module is not enough


the metal grounding body is generally galvanized angle steel with a length of 2.5mm, installed vertically and buried -0.8m. Ground modules are mainly divided into flat ground modules and cylindrical ground modules. Generally, the embedding of horizontal ground modules shall not be less than 2.0m, and the embedding of cylindrical ground modules shall not be less than 1.5m.


2. Improper on-site storage of ground modules


After the ground module arrives at the construction site, the site is mostly stored in the open air without blocking. The outer package of the ground module is damaged, the performance of non-metallic materials of some ground modules is changed.


3. The ground module leads loose


The ground module relies on the flat steel embedded in the grounding body to connect with the grounding strip. During the handling of the ground module, the construction personnel generally do not handle the ground module body for the convenience of the drawings.          directly hold the flat steel lead-out line of the ground module for handling, causing the flat steel to bend. During the installation process, after the lead wire and the ground strip are welded, the lead wire is bent to create a large gap between the ground module and the flat steel, resulting in an increase in contact resistance. 


4. The soil resistivity of the installation site of the ground module is high


Generally, the soil resistivity given by the design is the soil resistivity of the installation area. After field investigation, the grounding resistance of the ground modules installed in low-lying terrain and relatively humid terrain is almost qualified. The grounding resistance failure rate of the ground module is high in the dry soil, and the high soil resistivity leads to an increase in the grounding resistance.


5. The backfill soil of the ground module is not compacted in layers


After the ground module is placed in the pit,  the construction personnel directly backfill the backfill soil to the floor. The backfill soil is not compacted in layers and the backfill soil is not dense enough. The ground module has poor contact with the backfill soil and the contact resistance increases.
